YourCompany's Just Step!
12-Week Pedometer Walking Program
August 21st – November 12th, 2006 |
MyCompany's Just Step! program is designed to get you walking! Keep track of your steps as you walk and receive fun incentives along the way. The program requires the use of a pedometer, which will be provided by MyCompany. Your goal is to achieve at least 10,000 steps per day while virtually waking to MyCompany sites throughout the U.S.
Here’s how the pedometer program works:
- Click on the Sign Up link on the left-hand side of this page to get started. You will fill out a Physical Activity Readiness Questionnaire (PAR-Q) and create a username and password for logging into the Just Step! website.
- Pick up your free pedometer at your site during the days/times listed below. Once the program starts, Clip on your pedometer first thing in the morning. Wear your pedometer throughout the day. If you are concerned with losing your pedometer, safety straps can be purchased by clicking the Order Pedometer button above.

- Find ways throughout the day to increase your steps walked, (i.e. park your car in the furthest parking spot, take the stairs, find the long way to the restroom, hold a “walking meeting”, walk over your breaks, go for family walks).
- Before you go to bed at night, take off your pedometer and record your steps for the day on the Just Step! website.
- Log your steps daily to keep track of your progress and see the top 25 steppers at YourCompany nationwide! Browse through the Just Step! website for helpful walking tips and to order additional pedometers. Try to reach a daily goal of 10,000 steps and the program goal of 840,000 total steps!

- All participants who complete the routes listed below will be eligible for the incentives. However, you must record your daily steps on the Just Step! website. Once you reach the number of steps required for each incentive, a message will appear on your personal login screen indicating where and when you can pick up your incentive.

- If you lose or break your pedometer, you will need to purchase a new one on your own if you would like to continue with the program. Pedometers may be purchased via the Just Step! website for $18.95, plus shipping.
